If I Can't Make Chocolate Chip Cookies

...to cure myself of a depressive sort of mood because that will ultimately make me a fat relatively repressed person, here are a few other things that work to self-medicate:

Do something useful for someone. Anything that makes me think someone might be thankful that I did that something.
Do something useful around the house. It eases the mind if nothing else - one less thing to do.
Listen to Abby talk in her sleep, "No silly, teeth don't go on your forehead!!!"
Fuzzy warm thick socks (still useful even with heat)
Blog about the good.
Sleep next to someone you love

...and i haven't even shared with you about the child slaves harvesting the cocoa beans in Cote d'Ivoire yet (where 45% of the world's cocoa comes from)... and how Nestle, Hershey's and Mars were behind tabling part of a bill 2 senators were trying to pass (in 2001) that tried to regulate the chocolate industry in the US, having them add a label to their products insuring there cocoa was slave-free... they said - no, give us til 2005... well, guess what - it's STILL a problem... and the kids are still in bondage.... and the chocolate companies continue to make millions.

the child slaves, who didn't even know what the cocoa was used for - when told about it and what they thought about it... said... tell people when they eat chocolate, they are eating our flesh.

yeah, tell me you can enjoy chocolate anymore?....

(fair trade and organic chocolate IS available at Trader Joes and Whole Foods)...
