Abby is very into going anywhere but home right now. (And theres absolutely no reason for it, home is a happy nearly clean place... I've even started playing soccer with her... what's not to love about home?)
Anyway, I thought I'd try to break this pattern by keeping her at home this week mostly. So today, the first day of this brilliant plan of mine, Abby starts asking where we're going to go today. I deny we are going anywhere.
She has now stripped down to nothing insisting I get her another outfit because, "I'm getting ready to go to someone else's house."
So we're in a stalemate (well, I did get her panties back on her - I'll take that as a win).

Interesting...Rachel is also of the "I don't want to go home!" school of thought, but she has yet to try the nude protest angle. I wouldn't be surprised if that occurred to her crafty brain to try, though. In Rachel's case, it's usually because we're heading home for her afternoon nap, or else because she *thinks* it's close to naptime, so home is apparently evil.
You know, I definitely think the nap time is part of it. But it's taken on a life of it's own. It's also probably in part due to the fact that we have so much family and she is naturally in a lot of places during a week and she apparently just got accustomed to it!
Well, that makes me feel better. Saturday, she asked me several times to take her to "someone's house". When I said I didn't have any other houses to go to (and I didn't since poppa was at work and I don't have a life) she was quite incredulous...and I am sure thinks less of me. HOWEVER she did go so far as to rip her clothes off...so I am marginally grateful. gramma

That is so funny. I would definitely take it personally if she was at my house and said she wanted to go to somebody else's house. That's cute that you just realized it's just her schtick. : )

Yeah, Rachel is always putting on her shoes and announcing "I'm leaving." though she often doesn't have an answer when we inquire as to where.
And when we arrive home, she'll tell us she doesn't like our house and wants to live in a white house. I think her friends Emily and Jacob live in a white house.
But it's the "I'm leaving" that bugs me most.
Abby makes similar proclamations but I find it hilarious. But, count your blessings, at least your child puts shoes on! Abby just imitates how I say, "Okay, I'll see you later, bye bye. I'll be back." If I play along it's often even funnier because she'll play my role the whole way. If I say, "Ok, I'll miss you!" She'll say, "Don't worry, Daddy will 'tect you." me: "But, Daddy isn't here!" a: "*sigh* Ok, I'll stay for one more minute..."
